Premium Grade Shoji

Our Premium Grade Shoji screens are made in the traditional Japanese manner with mortise and tenon joinery; woven grill mortised into the frame; and a finish with a razor sharp knife. These panels are available only in single side lattice (grill), and only with our shoji gami Japanese paper. Since no metal hardware is used in their assembly or installation, the Premium Grade Shoji are offered as wood sliders only -- no metal tracking. Ebony or cherry flush mortised finger pulls are offered as an option.

These panels are made only from old growth Port Orford Cedar, a clear light colored Oregon softwood. Beautiful, practical, traditional, and long lasting, we are justifiably proud of our premium shoji. Meticulous attention to detail and precise craftmanship go into each panel, and we feel they compare favorably to the best shoji made in America. These panels are also available in the yuki-mi-shoji style, which means a section of the panel slides vertically to open up a veiw.
